Empties & speedy reviews #31 featuring Korres, Xen Tan, Sarah Chapman, Oribe, REN & more!

Welcome to my first empties post of 2017! Yes again, I am on a mission to use up a lot of the products that I have in my collection and although I can't promise that I won't buy anything new, I am going to try not to have too many products of the same type on the go. I have a lot of open/half used bottles that I need to use, even if I don't love them! I'm not as bad as I used to be but could certainly do with being more disciplined so expect lots of empties posts this year!

Makeup:

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: This is my 3rd or 4th tube of Better Than Sex mascara and although I hate the name, I love the product and the result it gives. If you like very black, voluminous, dramatic lashes, then you need this in your life! It doesn't smudge, flake or make my lashes crispy and is easy to remove - what's not to love?! I will definitely repurchase.

YSL Faux Cils False Lash Effect Mascara: My all time favourite mascara (although Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir comes very close!) - apart from the stunning packaging, I love the volume that I get from this mascara - it really gives the false lash effect and it doesn't transfer on to my lids, flake, smudge or make my sensitive eyes water. I already have a back up.

Too Faced Perfect Lip Liner in Nude: I really liked this lip liner because it was the perfect balance of pink and brown nude and it didn't drag on the lips. I liked that it was retractable too so I didn't need a sharpener. It seems to have been discontinued so I can't repurchase!

Benefit Moon Beam: This isn't actually empty but has been open for too long so I need to bin it! I adore this product and wish that it hadn't been discontinued because I love the soft, warm glow that it gives to the skin. It was my highlighter of choice on my wedding day! I wish I could repurchase.

Samples: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: This is a very hyped up product but it just didn't live up to the hype for me. I'm not crazy about the silicone texture and I have so many more hydrating primers that suit my skin better. Benefit Porefessional: I quite like this primer for my cheek area but again, the silicone texture isn't my favourite. Having said that, I prefer it to the Smashbox primer because it really smooths over my visible pores. Benefit Air Patrol Eye Primer: I didn't enjoy using this primer but I am very fussy about eye primers. I have oily eyelids and watery eyes so I need a powerful eye primer and the only one that works for me is Nars Pro Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I won't repurchase any of these.

Skincare:

Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse: I absolutely adore this cleanser! It is so nourishing on the skin and the texture is a dream for massaging into the skin. It thoroughly cleanses the skin without stripping it and the scent is really relaxing and soothing. I have a few cleansers on the go at he moment but I will definitely repurchase at some point.

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial: When I first used this, I wasn't overly impressed by it - my expectations were high and I felt that it didn't live up to them however, over time I grew to love it. This is applied after serum and before moisturiser and I have to say that after long term use, I could see the benefits of the glycolic and lactic acids on my skin. My skin felt so soft and the texture was more even and smooth. I have a few similar products on the go at the moment but I will repurchase this at some point.

Tatcha Moisture Rich Silk Cream: This was a disappointment for me because the gel cream texture wasn't moisturising enough for my skin - it definitely didn't live up to the "rich" in the name. I won't repurchase.

Zelens 3t Complex Essential Anti-Aging Cream (sample): I got 2 uses out of this sample and I LOVED it! It was rich in texture and made my skin soft and instantly plump. It is expensive so if I'm feeling spendy, I may purchase a full size!

Omorovicza Oxygen Booster: As you know, I'm a huge fan of Omorovicza skincare products and this is no exception. It can be used with serum, moisturiser as a "booster" or on it's own before serum and it really firms and plumps the skin. It is expensive at £85 for only 15ml but because I used it as a booster, it lasted me for 5 months. Right now, I have a lot of skincare products that I love and don't feel the need to repurchase immediately, but may in the future.

Haircare:

Revlon Professional Equave Hydro Nutritive Detangling Conditioner: This is my favourite leave in conditioner/detangling spray of all time. It smells really fresh and with just a few sprays, I can glide a brush through my (very knotty) hair. It doesn't weigh my hair down at all and I have a lot less flyaways and split ends when I use it. I have already repurchased it but I have two other leave in conditioners already open so I am going to make myself use them first, even though I much prefer this one.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (travel size): Oh how I love this product! It adds texture and volume to my hair without adding stickiness, weighing it down or making it crispy. I have another texturizing spray on the go from Show Beauty so I am forcing myself to finish that before repurchasing this even though I much prefer this one!

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment: I love this hair mask - it makes my hair soft, sleek and smooth. I really don't know if it helps with hair growth because I am using a serum which also encourages hair growth so I don't know if I can attribute the growth to just one of the products. This mask is almost always on offer in Boots & I will definitely repurchase.

Bodycare:

Korres Santorini Vine Shower Gel: I adore the fresh, yet sweet scent of this Korres range. It lathers well but doesn't dry the skin out. The scent reminds me of summer so I will repurchase later in the year.

Korres Japanese Rose and Bergamot Pear Body Milks: I adore both of these fragrances - they are very natural and not too over-powering. The milks are very moisturising, yet light in texture and they absorb quickly so there is no hanging around in the cold waiting to get dressed! Korres kindly sent these to me, but I will definitely purchase these myself.

Xen Tan Moroccan Tan: This is my favourite ever tan because it gives a very even, streak-free tan and it fades evenly, which I love. It smells of coconuts and gives a really nice golden colour. My only gripe is that the tube is the smallest of all of the fake tans that I own & I go through it too quickly! I have a few other tans in my collection at the moment, but will definitely repurchase.

Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Lotion Dark: This tan seriously impressed me and is probably the longest lasting tan I have tried - I get a good 10 days out of each application. The colour is a natural, golden tan rather than bronze so don't let the dark in the name scare you! It applies very evenly and would be impossible to get streaks with this product. It fades evenly without going patchy and like Xen Tan, smells really nice - like coconuts! I have already repurchased 2 back ups of this tan and want to try the oil version, which comes highly recommended.

Miscellaneous:

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray: I love the This Works Deep Sleep range and this was the first product I tried from the range. The scent really helps me to fall asleep quickly and I swear by this range but I prefer the Sleep Plus spray as it helps me to sleep right through the night. I couldn't tell you how many bottles of these pillow sprays I have gone through because there is never a night that I don't use one. If you have problems with broken sleep or getting to sleep, then I would highly recommend that you try one of these sprays. I already have a new bottle of the Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray (and two back ups!)

Dr Botanicals Neroli Reviving Bath Oil: I was kindly sent this bath oil and I used it during my pamper sessions over the festive season. It's quite expensive for a small 30ml bottle but only a few drops are needed to fill the room with the uplifting neroli scent, which I really love! If I am feeling spendy, I may repurchase or it would make a lovely gift.

I am sorry to have finished most of these products because I love so many of them and will miss them if I haven't yet repurchased them. I would love to hear your thoughts on them if you have tried them? What have you finished recently? I would love to hear in the comments below!
