Review & Swatches: Hourglass Ambient Strobe Blush Palette with & fast international shipping with MyMallBox

I have become a bit of an Hourglass palette addict (see my collection here), so when I saw that they had released a new blush palette the Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette, I had to have it! I quickly looked at Space NK but it wasn't there so I checked Sephora and it was in stock. A while ago, MyMallBox got in touch with me to tell me about their service and asked if I would like to try it so I thought this was the perfect opportunity.

In simple terms, MyMallBox is like your own P.O. Box in America so it is perfect for shopping on U.S. sites that won't ship overseas. I signed up and was given my personal Suite number and address. There are two options available for shopping - buy yourself or ask them to shop for you (3% charge for this option) - either way, the products will arrive to your personal box and then they contact you to ask if you want it stored or shipped. If you place a number of orders, it makes sense to store until all orders have been received and then you can asked them to consolidate everything into one parcel before shipping to you. Items can be stored for 90 days free of charge. There is no registration fee, no membership fee and no consolidation fee and once you decide to ship, there are a variety of options available from regular postage to registered post and courier. I decided to use courier because I wanted to get my hands on the palette as soon as possible! I could see when the parcel was received and when it was shipped, plus a tracking code. The shipping cost me $43 on this occasion but the least expensive option was around $20. There were 7 days from my date of order to receiving the palette in Ireland. The whole process was very simple and hassle-free and I found the lady in the Customer Care team to be very friendly and fast when replying to my questions. I wasn't charged any customs on my delivery but I kept my order value low. I will definitely be using this service again! If you are interested in using this service and receiving a $5 credit to your account, you can sign up using my referral code or if you'd prefer not to use the code, the site is here. You know that I would only recommend products and services that I use myself and this was completely hassle-free. I will definitely be using it again in the future!

Now on to the palette itself! The Hourglass Ambient Strobe Blush Palette looks very similar to the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette, which was a limited edition release 2 years ago but the base powder which is intertwined with the blush is a highlighting powder, which means it is much more shimmery, however it doesn't transfer as a discoball on the face. If you like Nars Orgasm, you will love these blushes.

The blushes are very pigmented, so a light handed is definitely needed (for me, in any case!). I initially thought that they might be glittery and highlight my pores but I haven't found this to be the case. Instead, I just look quite "healthy" and glowing - which is the look I go for. Any matte lovers will not enjoy this palette!

The shades are Incandescent Electra, which was also in the Hourglass Blush palette from 2014, so that was a little bit disappointing as I already own that palette but if you don't have that one, you will be happy with its inclusion as it is a beautiful coral/pink blush. Next is Brilliant Nude, a warm brown/deep peach, which I think looks perfect with a bold lip when I just want a little something on my cheeks and finally, Euphoric Fusion, which is a deep mauve/dusty pink. I think this will look good against tanned skin.

I've been wearing the blushes daily since I received it and they last around 8 hours on me before fading, which is pretty good! The palette is priced at $62, which is pretty standard Hourglass pricing. It contains 2.8g of product and whilst the pans are smaller than individual blushes, they are a lot bigger than those in the Ambient Lighting Edits (see photo below).

Do you need this? If you already own their 2014 blush palette, then probably not but if you are a blush fan, a palette fan or just an Hourglass fan (I am all three!), then you will probably want this in your collection!

As far as I am aware, this is a limited edition palette and is due for release in the UK in Spring next year but if, like me, you can't wait that long but don't live in the U.S., you can buy it here and use MyMallBox. If you use my referral code, you will receive $5 to your account.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this palette? Will it be added to your wishlist! Please tell me in the comments below!

All products are bought by me, unless otherwise stated. I paid for the palette myself but MyMallBox awarded me some credit on my box, however I added money to that to ship the item. Opinion is always my own.
