For the longest time, I only ever wore nude lipsticks and glosses. It was only around the time that I started this blog two years ago that I began to introduce some colour into my lip collection but my heart will always lie with nudes because I just find them so easy to wear, especially on days when I just can't decide what make-up to wear! I also love how low maintenance a nude lip is. My favourite nude leans on the pink side, rather than the brown purely because that is what suits my skin tone best and I also find that they make my teeth look a little whiter. Today I am going to share 9 pinky-nude lipstick options. There are no liquid lipsticks here because I have to admit that I am not the greatest fan of anything too drying or matte on my lips so I haven't bought very many liquid lipsticks. I also haven't included any lip glosses because they deserve a whole other post! Let's get started!
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick Kim K.W. This is one of the most recent additions to my collection and I was initially a little worried at how well it would suit me given that I don't have Kim's skintone. I don't like the concealer lips look (who does?!) and in the bullet, this lipstick looks paler than when swatched. I need not have worried because although it is very nude, it has a hint of pink which makes the lips look fresh and juicy. It is from Charlotte's K.I.S.S.I.N.G. range, which is very comfortable to wear and makes the lips look plump. I pair this with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Iconic Nude and it lasts around 3 hours before it needs re-applying. No. 7 Precision Lip Pencil in Nude also works really well with this lipstick and is a lot more affordable. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are pretty pricey at £23/€30
Clinique Lip Pop Nude Pop: This is a mini that was a freebie with Glamour Magazine last year. I love the formulation of the lip pop lipsticks because they are creamy, which makes them comfortable to wear, are pigmented and they last around 4 hours before they need re-applying, they also don't bleed or cling to any dry patches on the lips. Nude Pop is very much a "my lips but better" colour, is pretty much a nude with just a tiny hint of pink and it has a very fine shimmer in it, which adds some shine to the lips without being shimmery. Clinique Lip Pops are priced at £16/€19.50.
Clinique Lip Pop Beige Pop: Despite its name, this is actually more of a pink nude than a beige nude and is one of my favourite lipsticks in this post because it works with every eye look and every blush that I use. It is slightly warmer in tone than Nude Pop and is the closest to my natural lip colour that I have found in a lipstick. I like to pair this with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade Pillow Talk, although it works very well without a liner.
MAC Angel: This is more pink than nude but it is still in neutral territory so I had to include it in today's post. It is from MAC's frost range but I don't find the finish to be too "frosty" or shimmery and the wear time is around 4 hours. It is just a very pretty everyday pink, without being "too" pink. MAC lipsticks are priced at £15.50/€20.
MAC Creme Cup: This is the only MAC lipstick that I have ever repurchased and was the only colour I wore on my lips for around 6 months a few years ago! It is a blue toned pink, which helps makes the teeth look whiter. It is a cremesheen formula, which as the name suggests, is very creamy and comfortable to wear but the downtime to this is that the wear time isn't great & it needs to be re-applied after 3 hours. This looks great when paired with Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob.
YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick #1 Nude Beige: My all time favourite lipstick EVER and it has been discontinued! :-( Why oh why do brands discontinue amazing products?? Apart from having the most stunning packaging, this YSL lipstick is literally my perfect colour/formulation. Again, despite its name, it actually leans more on the pink side of nude. It is very pigmented, creamy but not too slippy and doesn't cling to any dry patches and is an all round winner! I haven't been able to find any online anywhere to buy a back-up but if any of you find any, please let me know because I really dread the thoughts of finishing this lipstick.
Charlotte Tilbury Between The Sheets: This was a limited edition lipstick so I sadly cannot link to it as it genuinely was limited edition rather than just marketed that way to boost sales only for it to be re-released (looking at you when I say that, Becca!!). This is from Charlotte's Matte lipstick range but it isn't flat or drying like some matte lipsticks. It is a rose pink nude, adds some warmth to my complexion when I wear it and the wear time is pretty good at around 5/6 hours.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture #10 Beige Tribute: Another beautiful YSL lipstick that leans more on the beige nude than pink nude end of the spectrum. It is extremely comfortable on the lips but is less creamy than the Rouge Volupte range, it is very pigmented and the wear time is similar to that of a matte - roughly 6 hours before it needs to be re-applied. I adore the sleek gold packaging with the YSL logo on both the case and the actual lipstick itself. This lipstick is the most expensive of the bunch at £26/€33.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick Liv It Up: Another recent addition to my collection and it is more pink than nude, but still falls into the neutral spectrum. This warm pink lipstick is extremely pigmented, creamy, comfortable to wear and has a wear time of 4-5 hours. I think this pretty pink would suit most skin tones.
Although I don't need any more pinky-nude lipsticks in my life, I have my eye on Nars Audacious lipsticks in the shades Brigitte & Raquel. I would love to know what your favourite nude lipsticks are? Do you prefer a true nude or favour beige/browns more than pink nudes? I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations in the comments below!
