If you follow me on instagram (here), you will no doubt have noticed that it was my birthday on Monday and that I was lucky enough to receive lots of lovely gifts. My absolute favourite pressie was from my nephew and niece who baked some cupcakes for me and made cards - so thoughtful and sweet - the effort that went into those was better than any other present could ever be! Today, I am going to share some of the beauty goodies that I was lucky enough to receive, some of which have been on my wishlist for quite a while!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit That Glow: When this glow kit was first released, I resisted ordering one because I have so many highlighters already and I was trying to be strict with my spending before my holiday, then it was sold out and that obviously made me want it more! I am delighted to finally have my hands on it and I'm really pleasantly surprised at the size of the pans and love that they can be easily removed.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator Peach Glow: I've been keeping my eye out for a peachy highlighter for a while and when I saw this on Dagmara's blog, I added it to my wishlist. This is my first Laura Geller product and I am hoping that I will enjoy using it - it looks really beautiful!
I received two of the new Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks from the Hot Lips range: Kim KW and Liv It Up. They are both really beautiful and are actually quite similar to other lipsticks I already own but I'm hoping they aren't too similar!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit: This was a Christmas release last year and I didn't buy it at the time because I already own the products that are in the bottom row and also because the pans looked so small but as time went on and I saw it on blogs and instagram, I really wished that I owned it. Then a few months ago, I bought a mini Hourglass powder in Sephora and found that I absolutely loved it and wanted to try more of the powders so a few weeks ago when I saw that Space NK had these Lighting Edits back in stock, I dropped major hints! I am so, so happy to have it in my collection!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk: I'm almost finished my current bottle of this foundation and it is a staple for me so I am delighted to have a new bottle ready to use! I also received a bottle of Scott Barnes Multi Media Makeup, which I put on my wishlist because I bought a bottle a while back which was perfect when I was tanned but now that my tan has faded it was too dark. This foundation is absolutely perfect for those with dry skin because it is hydrating and it has a very dewy finish - I absolutely love it, but it is very watery in texture and doesn't have a pump so dispensing the right amount can be a bit of a pain because it goes everywhere! The finish is worth the hassle though and it's pretty long-lasting. I also received a bottle of Milani 2 in 1 foundation & concealer, which I have wanted since Leanne blogged about it. I actually wore this on my birthday and I absolutely love it. It is pretty full coverage, yet doesn't feel heavy on the skin and doesn't look too matte. I haven't used a budget foundation in years but this is right up there with some foundations with much higher price tags. I would liken it to Too Faced Born This Way foundation, but I actually prefer this Milani one. I also received a Milani Blush in the shade Luminoso, which is a peach colour - my favourite blush colour so I am really looking forward to using this and think it will look good with a tan.
I was very excited to receive two Huda Beauty Lip Contour Pencils in the shades Bombshell and Gossip Gurl. I've already used both of these and love them - they are really pigmented, don't drag on the lips, are comfortable to wear and super pigmented. I know that I will want some more shades to my collection.
Finally, I received a new concealer: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, which is another product that I put on my wishlist after Leanne recommended it. I'm looking forward to using this because it is my first time to use an IT Cosmetics product after lusting after them for quite a while.
I am so grateful and lucky to have received so many amazing gifts and like I said, the homemade gifts are my absolute favourites. I'm looking forward to using these products and letting you know my thoughts on them. I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products - have you tried any of them? How do you like to spend your birthday? Please tell me in the comments below!
