July has been a mixed month for me - I was very ill for most of it with vertigo, pneumonia and then tonsillitis but on the upside, we have had some truly amazing weather which is always welcome! I'm looking forward to August because it is my birthday month and also our wedding anniversary and I am also hoping for a better month health-wise! I have a mixture of favourites to share with you this month; some skincare, perfume, nail polish & more so let's get started!
In terms of skincare, my first favourite is Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cleansing Oil. This is the perfect first cleanse product because it breaks down all make-up, even mascara and it doesn't sting my eyes or leave an oily film on the skin. Only the tiniest amount is needed to cleanse the skin so this small bottle should last me quite a while but I only wish it was sold in Ireland!
Aurelia Revitalise & Glow Serum: Aurelia kindly sent me some samples of their best selling products to try. I already love their Miracle Cleanser so was excited to get the opportunity to try some other products. This serum is very lightweight and it feels very soothing on the skin. Although I have been very ill this month, my skin hasn't looked too dull and grey and I can put it down to this serum. It gives my skin a glow, as the name suggests, but it also calms down any redness which has been especially beneficial over the last month! It contains Omegas 3,6 and 9 and smells really beautiful due to the inclusion of Jasmine, Tuberose, Mandarin and Plumeria. I've used 2 drops each morning and I still have some left in this sample bottle. The full size is priced at £57 for 30ml, which is pretty expensive but given that only 2 drops are needed daily, it would last a long time. I would recommend this serum to anybody with dull or dry skin but I am unsure about those with oily skin.
Aurelia Cell Repair Night Oil: This was another sample sent to me by Aurelia. I actually had a full bottle of this last year and it reminded me how much I loved this oil. The scent is truly beautiful and really hydrates my skin but doesn't leave a film on the skin and sinks in immediately. I have a review here. Again this is quite expensive at £55 but it is a 50ml bottle, whereas most oils come in 30ml bottles so it will last a long time. Aurelia sell some discovery packs, which is a great way to try a few products without paying full price.
The only nail polish that I've worn this month has been Essie Fiji. It is an opaque, creamy pale pink and it looks great with tanned skin. I use two coats for a perfectly opaque finish and the brush is the perfect size to give a non-streaky finish.
Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Hand and Nail Cream: I absolutely adore anything citrus-scented and what I love most about Roger & Gallet products is that they have an authentic scent, rather than artificial. It is very moisturising, but non-greasy. It also contains SPF 15, which is a bonus.
Cerruti 1881 is one of my all time favourite perfumes and the 100ml bottle was recently on offer for only €19.55 so I snapped it up! It is a woody, musky scent but also smells quite fresh. I love it & have been wearing it so much this past month.
Instant Effects Lip Plumper: This was sent to me months ago and I featured it in a favourites post earlier in the year but I have been using it again this month. It really does plump the lips and makes them look smoother and works great under a gloss or lipstick for a fuller look. You won't get Kylie Jenner lips but for a temporary fix, it works great.
Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Sugar Sugar: I absolutely love this nude lip gloss - it is opaque, non sticky and has a high shine finish. It is perfect paired with Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude Lip Cheat lip pencil. Nude lips are so easy to wear and are my go-to when I don't know what to wear!
That's everything that I have been loving this month! Now I would love to hear what you have loved over the last few weeks? Have you made any new discoveries? I would also love to hear if you have any candle recommendations? Do you have any nice plans for August? Please tell me in the comments below!
