June favourites featuring Marc Jacobs, tarte, bareMinerals, Oils of Heaven, Color Excellence Highlights Brightener & more!

I cannot believe that we are halfway through the year! The fact that it is the end of June and it's raining as I write this doesn't seem right - hopefully the sun will make an appearance soon! This month I have a mixture of products to share with you: make-up, skincare, one bodycare and one haircare. Although I had a major spree in Sephora last month, I haven't yet had the chance to use all of the products because since coming home, my health has declined and my medications have increased so I'm been struggling for the last few weeks and haven't had the energy to have a good play with the eyeshadow palettes, in particular. I will share my thoughts on them when I have had a good chance to get to know them. I have used some of new purchases and the ones that impressed me most are included here today.

Skincare:

GLAMGLOW Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturiser: I bought three new GLAMGLOW products in Sephora and to be honest, they have all impressed me but the one that I have used most often is the moisturiser. This product not only hydrates but also gives a dewy, youthful glow to the skin and really helps my skin to look brighter on no-makeup/lack of sleep days. It looks a little like MAC Strobe cream in the pot but once it is absorbed into the skin, it just leaves a dewy finish to the skin without looking greasy or having a discoball effect. It also doesn't highlight fine lines or exaggerate visible pores so it is an all-round winner for me - I just wish I could buy it in Ireland.

Oils of Heaven Natural Cacay Anti-Aging Facial Oil: This product was sent to me, along with two other oils from the Oils of Heaven brand. The reason I chose to try this oil before the other two is because I have never tried Cacay Oil before, or to be honest, even heard of it before and I was curious about it. Rosehip oil has been quite hyped up over the last few years due to it's moisturising properties but also because it contains retinol, however Cacay oil contains 3 times more retinol than Rosehip oil and 50% more Vitamin E and twice as much Linoleic Acid as Argan Oil - a natural wonder product? The 30ml bottle is priced at £39, but only a few drops are required to cover the face and neck. It absorbs very quickly and my skin is so soft to touch when I use it, but also I have noticed that blemishes fade quickly. I have some old scars from spots so I will be keeping my eye on those to see if they fade over the coming months and will be sure to report back. I've noticed that my pores are less visible around my nose and cheeks and my make-up applies beautifully over it. This is a product that I am really happy to have in my collection and I am looking forward to seeing the results when used over a longer period, but so far, so good. I bought Sunday Riley Luna Oil last month but have been reaching for this oil more often.

Bodycare:

I only have one product in this category but I had to mention it because it is really brilliant & a great price: Eucerin Intensive Foot Cream 10% Urea. This foot cream is one of the best I have used - my feet are so soft and nourished and it is non-greasy so I don't need to worry about slipping after I apply it! It is priced at €10.99, but is on 3 for 2 along with other Eucerin products at the moment in Boots.

Haircare:

Color Excellence Highlights Brightener: I was sent two Color Excellence products in May and decided to use the Highlights Brightener when I returned from holiday because I had my hair balayaged just before I went and it was looking a bit brassy from being in the sun and this product promises to give new life to highlights so I thought that if it could save me a trip to the hairdresser, then that could only be a good thing. The Vitamin C powder comes in a sachet and is added to the product in the bottle, then shaken and left to stand for up to an hour. I then washed my hair & towel-dried my hair and added the product to my hair, before massaging in and combing through and rinsing and then I conditioned as normal. I was quite sceptical before using this product but it really did give my balayage new life - it got rid of any brassiness and dullness and my hair looked much fresher. This would work equally as well on a full head of highlights - obviously it wouldn't do anything for root regrowth but to brighten highlights, it works really well and at £7.99/€10.99 it is a lot less expensive than a trip to the hairdresser. I'll definitely be repurchasing this when my hair needs a lift and it's often on offer in Boots (currently 2 for 2 on haircare).

Make-up:

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara: I bought this in Sephora last month and I absolutely love it. It gives major volume as the name suggests, but does so without any clumping, flaking or smudging. It is very black and doesn't give the dreaded crispy lashes that some mascaras do. If you like Too Faced Better Than Sex or YSL Faux Cils, then you will love this, although the formula isn't as wet as Too Faced Better Than Sex.

Nars Orgasm blush: This is probably the only ever blush I have ever repurchased and it is the new limited edition size (I think it is the same size as Laguna bronzer). I find the warm peachy-pink with fine gold shimmer extremely flattering on my skintone, especially now that I have a bit of a tan. The shimmer doesn't give a disco ball effect so don't worry about that but if matte blush lovers won't like this one.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light: Because I have dry skin, I tend to steer clear of powders but having read so many rave reviews of these powders, I decided to buy the mini version when I saw it in Sephora (I think they are a Sephora exclusive). I've used this for setting my make-up and it is unlike every other powder I have used previously. It doesn't look matte or cakey and actually blurs imperfections. I will definitely be buying the full size. If you are a powder-phobe like me, I would highly recommend giving it a go!

bareMinerals Complete Coverage Serum Concealer: This is the only concealer I have used since I bought it. It gives very good coverage but is non-drying, is easy to blend, doesn't feel heavy and is perfect for the under eye area and also on blemishes. I absolutely love this concealer & would recommend it to anybody with dry skin.

tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in the shade Goals: This gloss is non-sticky, gives the lips a great shine, makes them look fuller and the colour is extremely flattering. It is perfect for everyday wear and the wand makes application very easy. It's been a staple since I bought it. This is another brand that I wish was available in Ireland!

I would love to hear what products you have been loving this month? Have you any holidays planned to get away from the rain?! I'd love to hear in the comments below!
