I've been feeling pretty poorly since last weekend due to having a nasty bout of the norovirus and I was feeling really grotty so last night, I decided that I needed a good pamper. I took out my favourite products & spoiled myself and I really feel much better for it so today, I am going to share my pamper routine with you. I picked out my favourite and most luxurious products because I knew I had to bring out the big guns due to how rubbish I felt. My Granda always said that I was very fond of myself - I guess he was right?!
I began by cleansing with one of my favourite balms: Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, and I followed it up with another of my favourite products: Oskia Renaissance Mask while I was in the bath and when I removed that, I used a Sarah Chapman Skinesis 3D Moisture Infusion Sheet Mask. I was kindly sent this sheet mask by the Skinesis team who contacted me after reading about my adverse reaction to the Liquid Facial Resurfacer. They said that this would pack my skin with moisture, and they were right. I left it on for 15 minutes and when I removed it, I rubbed the excess serum into my skin, which was now feeling very soft. I am tempted to order a pack of these masks for times when my skin is tight and uncomfortable or just needs an extra bit of moisture.
Meanwhile, I ran a bath and used some Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Body & Hand Wash that I received in a giftset at Christmas - this filled the bathroom with the scent and it didn't find it to be too drying on my skin, I then used my very luxurious Jo Malone Geranium & Walnut Body Scrub (after all, this was all about spoiling myself!). This scrub leaves my skin baby soft - it is creamy, gentle but effective, and a little goes a long way. I wanted my skin to be prepped for fake tan because having a little bit of colour always makes me look a little better!
When I got out of the bath, I applied some L'Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream on my ankles to prevent tan clinging there and also some Moo Goo Full Cream Moisturiser to my elbows, knees and hands, again to prevent the tan clinging & creating dark patches. One of my friends gave me a hamper of Moo Goo products a few weeks ago and I am loving everything I've tried so far. I then applied some Xen Tan Moroccan Tan because I knew it would give me an even, streak-free, golden tan and the bonus is that it smells quite nice, which is unusual for fake tans!
To finish the pampering, I painted my nails and toe nails with Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire nail polish in the shade Red Heels, which I blogged about last week (here). It is a beautiful, vibrant red that really lifts the spirits. I then sprayed some of my trusty This Works Sleep Plus + Pillow Spray and had a great night's sleep so today, I am looking and feeling a whole lot better and more like myself again.
A luxurious pamper session is good for the soul and it's worth using all of your favourite products together every once in a while for a special pamper. The only thing missing for me was a candle because I actually don't have any at the moment! I recently finished the last one in my collection so I need to re-stock - any recommendations? I'd love to hear what you like to use when you get the chance to pamper yourself? Do you make it a regular thing or keep these routines for when you are feeling especially rough? Please tell me in the comments below!
