It is the end of April but as I write this, it is snowing! Yes, snow in April but that's Irish weather for you! I hope you've all had a great month? I am very excited for May because at the end of the month, we are going on holiday! Today I'm sharing my favourites in beauty but also some accessories & bloggers that I've been really enjoying!
Beauty:
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist: I've mentioned this several times before and I am still loving it. I just cannot do my make-up without it. It can be used before applying foundation, but my preference is to use it as a finishing spray. It softens & blurs everything for a more luminous look (funny that, given its name?!) and just makes everything look fresh and radiant. I will definitely repurchase this when I am in the U.S. because it is probably my favourite product in my entire collection at the moment.
BECCA Backlight Priming Filter: As you can probably tell, I love a dewy/radiant finish to my skin and this primer definitely delivers the desired effect. I'm not sure how well it would work on oily skin but for my dry/dehydrated skin, it is perfect. It counteracts any dullness and is the perfect base for any foundation that doesn't fall into the "glow enhancing" spectrum.
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation: I was so excited about this when I heard it was being released but it didn't live up to my expectations because although the glow was definitely there, it wasn't dewy at all and I found it quite flat. Given its price (€50), I wasn't about to give up on it so I tried applying it in lots of different ways with a number of primers and have found that when I wear it over the Becca primer, it looks radiant and looks how I hoped it would when I first bought it! Result!
Instant Effects Lip Plumper: This was sent to me last month and I have been loving it! I featured it in my current favourite lip products earlier in the month (here) because it is the perfect base for any lip product. My lips look plump and smooth when I use it, it is non-tingly and non-drying and an all round great product. You won't have Kylie Jenner lips but a fuller version of your own lips so it's worth trying if don't like the look of over-lined lips but want fuller lips.
Clinique Beige Pop: I've raved about Clinique Lip Pop lipsticks several times on the blog before and I now own seven but Beige Pop is the one that I am reaching for most often at the moment. The name is confusing because the shade actually leans more on the pinky end of nude and not particularly beige! This lipstick is perfect for every day wear and is creamy and comfortable on the lips. I would highly recommend trying a lipstick from this range if you are treating yourself to a lipstick!
Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper: This is a recent rediscovery for me and like all rediscoveries, I don't know why I ever stopped using it! It is a true matte peach and is perfect for Spring/Summer. It's very pigmented so I have to be sure to use a light hand but the colour really lifts my complexion. I'm so glad that I have made this rediscovery!
Bloggers:
Pamsstuffandthings: Pam and I started our blogs at around the same time and I've enjoyed reading her blog since the beginning but I also find her very inspirational. She has lost several stone and has made a big lifestyle change and is now a regular gym-goer and weightlifter. She consistently beats her personal bests and I find her determination very inspiring (I know I've said that twice but it's so true!). If you are stuck in a rut/want to get fit/make a lifestyle change/lose weight, then I would highly recommend checking out her blog.
Linda Libra Loca: Anne's is the blog to go to if you want a really in-depth review of beauty products. Her reviews are second to none and usually start with a funny anecdote! She has also recently started a youtube channel and I am enjoying watch her videos where she does tutorials, reviews and empties. I urge you to check her out if you are researching beauty products before purchasing.
Miscellaneous:
Jewellery Box Rose Gold Studs: These beautiful earrings were sent to me by the lovely Gemma from Jewellery Box a few weeks ago and I have literally worn them every day since! They are 9ct Rose Gold, yet only cost £32, which I think is a bargain for a decent pair of earrings and they would make a lovely gift. Rose Gold is so flattering against all skin tones, but if you prefer silver, gold or white gold then check out their website here where you will find so many beautiful, delicate pieces of jewellery at very reasonable prices.
Aldo Greenwald Handbag: I spotted this bag on Gemma's blog and immediately wanted it. It is similar in style to Chanel Boy bags but isn't a replica. It is amazing quality, especially for the price tag (£50) and it is very spacious and sturdy. It is the only bag I have used since I bought it! The black is now sold out but it is still available in light blue & bone - both of which are tempting me!
Phone Case: I'm in love with my new phone case from Caseapp. I chose a white marble design with the quote "Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon" on the back. It is sturdy yet lightweight and very pretty. The also sell laptop skins and you can customise them using some of their pre-made designs or your own images. A real mixed bag of favourites this month! I'd love to hear your thoughts on them and also what your favourites and most used products have been? Please tell me in the comments below!
