Two current skincare loves: Zelens Pure Cleansing Liquid Balm & Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Today I want to share with you two current skincare loves that have left some of my other products in the shadows recently. I'll preface this by saying that I have dry and dehydrated skin with some visible pores in the cheek area and my skin is also quite sensitive. I rarely have spots but can sometimes have a little congestion on my chin and along my jawline. I am also on high doses of several medications at the moment, which has resulted in my skin being even drier and more sensitive than usual. I am a bit of a skincare junkie but these two products have been firm favourites recently in my never-ending quest to battle dry skin and achieve radiance. So let's get started!

Zelens Pure Cleansing Liquid Balm: I bought this on a whim a while ago when there was a discount code floating around - the only thing I had tried from Zelens before this was a sample of an eye cream, which I loved but I had never read any reviews of this cleanser. I just took a chance on it as an alternative to a traditional cleansing balm, which is my preferred type of cleanser. First up, I have to say that I love that this comes with a pump - for hygiene reasons, but also because it helps prevent me from using too much product (something I can be very guilty of!). I use this cleanser on dry skin and I really massage it in before adding water to emulsify and then rinsing - it feels quite light, but very nourishing. It feels like a hybrid of an oil, balm and gel in texture and is a real pleasure to use. It contains several oils - olive, perilla, rosemary, lavender, lemon, rose geranium and bitter orange, all of which result in a very fresh almost minty-citrus scent, which makes it perfect for my morning cleanse because it is so uplifting. My skin feels very nourished and smooth after using this and both my husband and mother have both commented on how clear, even and glowing my skin is (without any prompting!) since I started using this, so that's a big thumbs up for me! It is quite pricey at £50/€65.95 for 125ml but I literally use 1-2 pumps daily to cover my entire face and neck so I can see this lasting me quite a while .

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil: I received this in a giftset at Christmas and I have used it at least three times a week since then - usually at night, but sometimes during the day if I felt that my skin needed a moisture boost. I am a big fan of Clarins skincare, in general so I had a feeling that I would get on well with this oil, but I under-estimated exactly how much I would love it. It contains extracts of Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid as well as Hazelnut oil. The scent is very relaxing and spa-like and the texture of the oil isn't too greasy, yet it feels very nourishing and moisturising on the skin. I use 2-3 drops to moisturise my face and neck and find that it absorbs very quickly but the effects can still be felt for hours afterwards. I love that it comes with a pipette because. again, it helps me not be too heavy-handed with it. When I apply this at night I find that the scent helps me to relax and unwind and I wake to very soft, hydrated, comfortable and happy skin. What more could I ask for? I love this oil and can see myself repurchasing in the future.

I would love to know if you have tried either of these products? Or if you have skin similar to mine, what products are you using at the moment to combat the dryness? Please tell me in the comments below!
