Glowing, radiant skin is the look that I gravitate towards all year round - I think that it gives my dry and dehydrated skin a healthy and more youthful look and is most flattering on my skin. I don't want to look greasy or like a discoball, but I do love a good glow. Today I am going to share with you the products that help me achieve (fake!!) glowing skin in winter.
I always, always use primer and have a few that I choose from but for the days when my skin is looking pretty dull, I reach for BECCA Backlight Priming Filter. Other primers hydrate my skin, but this one also adds a glow and makes my skin look more alive. I have written more about it here, but believe me when I say that this is perfect for hangover days, flu days and any other time you need to inject some life into your skin. At £32 for 30ml, it's not the cheapest product but it is worth every last penny!
For foundation, I really love Estée Lauder Perfectionist. This really brightens my complexion and has a dewy, radiant finish with medium coverage. It is infused with perfectionist serum, which means that it doesn't cling to any dry patches or sit in fine lines and it is also very comfortable to wear.
For blush, I have been reaching for Warm Soul from MAC so often recently. It is a mineralize blush, which is warm peach in colour and although it has some shimmer in it, it isn't too 'in your face' and can still be worn in the daytime. I find that it adds a healthy glow to my skin.
Highlighters are my weakness and I could list so many but the one that I use both day and night and find that it gives a 'lit from within' finish, is Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight. Although it is a powder, its texture is so soft that it is almost creamy and it is so finely milled that it doesn't settle into fine lines. It is quite subtle in colour - it is described as soft apricot, which sums it up perfectly. I also love the liquid version of this and tend to use that more in the summer months.
To finish, I love a quick spritz of Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. This is basically like a soft focus filter - it really transforms the look of the base products and adds luminosity more than any other product I have ever used before. It is a fine mist so it won't disturb any make-up already applied and is perfect for refreshing make-up during the day. I love this product so much!
Do you go for glowing skin all year round? I would love to hear what glow-enhancing products you like to use - please tell me in the comments below! I am always ready to be enabled! I already have my eye on some Natasha Denona products after reading Blanche's review here on The Beauty Bloss.
Thanks for reading!
