How on earth is it the end of January?! Instead of dragging on, I feel like this month has absolutely flown by! I've been addicted to Celebrity Big Brother and Making a Murderer, have pretty much kept to my resolution of being more mindful with my spending and have been quite productive with life admin despite being ill - it's been a good month! So let's get started with what I've been loving this month.
The first product I have been crazy about this month is a palette from Too Faced (surprise, surprise!). It is the Natural Matte eyshadow palette and I have literally used it non-stop since I bought it. The packaging is cute - a lace effect metal tin with magnetic closure and inside are nine neutral shadows - three large base shadows and six smaller ones for definition/crease etc. It also comes with a small booklet, which gives step by step instructions for 3 looks. As with all Too Faced shadows, they are buttery, very pigmented and a dream to work with. If you like matte shadows and had your eye on the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette but couldn't get your hands on it, then I would highly recommend buying this palette.
Next up is another palette - this time a face palette. It is the Nars/Steven Klein One Shocking Moment palette. I was lucky enough to receive this for Christmas and I was delighted because I love Nars blushes and Laguna is one of my favourite bronzers ever. It contains a good size bronzer, a highlight and contour and four blushes. I haven't had much use from the highlight because it doesn't appeal to me as much as my other highlighters but is good for the brow bone. The blushes are the stars of the show in this palette, in my opinion. All live up to the quality of the individual blushes - very pigmented and easy to blend. The colours are: Robotic (baby pink), Blasphemy (rose pink), Luster (peachy coral) and Dolce Vita (deep pink). I usually go for peachy/coral blushes so it is nice to have some more variety and I have loved using the pinks. This palette is limited edition, but still available in Space NK if you want to get your hands on it!
Now on to lips and the first product has been a lifesaver for me. My lips were chapped so badly for around 6 weeks and none of my balms were helping - even the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, It was sore to even smile and I was desperate so I decided to give Lanolips Lemonade Lip Aid a go. Almost immediately, I could feel this working. It is an exfoliator and lip balm in one, smells divine and has made my lips so, so soft! I absolutely love it and will be repurchasing when it starts to run low. It is without doubt, the best lip balm I've ever used.
In terms of lipstick, I have been mainly wearing either YSL Rouge Pur Couture in the shade Beige Tribute or Urban Decay Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade After Dark. The YSL lipstick is very creamy and comfortable to wear and is the perfect pinky/brown nude, without being too slippy and the Urban Decay is surprisingly non-drying for a matte, is a beautiful berry colour and lasts for around 4/5 hours before it needs retouching.
Finally for beauty is a top coat from Sally Hansen and it is the Miracle Gel Top Coat. This top coat gives a high shine/glossy finish and extends the wear time of my nail polish. I really love the finish so if you're in the market for a new top coat, I'd highly recommend it.
Now on to youtube and this month, I discovered Sharon Farrell's vlog channel & watched all of her vlogs! She is so down to earth and her husband is so funny - they have a great dynamic and are very easy to watch.
In terms on blogs, I have been loving LPagebeauty.com and Gyudy's Notes of Beauty. It is great to see Gyudy back blogging after her break away and Leanne & I seem to have similar taste in make-up so I love reading her blog, even if it does extend my wishlist! I would highly recommend that you check out both blogs!
So that's it from me this month! I would love to know what your favourites have been? Please tell me in the comments below!
Thanks for reading!
