In 2014, due to having always too many similar products open at the same time, I decided that I needed to finish products up before opening new ones. For the most part, I stuck to it but in the second part of 2015 I let it kind of slip again (I did continue to use products up but I also opened more products before finishing others) so for 2016, I need to get that back on track. This will go hand in hand with trying to be more mindful with my spending so prepare to see lots of empties posts coming your way this year! So let's get on with my first empties post of 2016!
Bodycare:
Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Body Lotion: This was a big 500ml bottle that was part of a giftset and whilst I adore the scent, I didn't find it to be moisturising enough for me. I wouldn't repurchase.
Badedas 3 in 1 Revitalising Shower Gel, Shampoo & Conditioner: The scent of Badedas products reminds me of my childhood because my Mam used to use it and when I was in Boots recently picking up yet another prescription, I decided to pick this up because I find the scent comforting. It is very uplifting and the scent lasts for a few hours in the bathroom after having a bath or shower. I will repurchase again for sure.
Margaret Dabbs Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion: This is probably the most expensive foot lotion I have ever used, but also the most effective. I love the lemon scent and how soft and comfortable my feet are when I use this. I have another foot cream to finish in the meantime, but will definitely repurchase this.
Xen-Tan Dark Lotion: I love Xen-Tan self tanning products - they smell amazing (marzipan scent) and always give me a totally streak-free, golden tan without a hint of orange. I will most definitely repurchase this.
Molton Brown Blossoming Honeysuckle & White Tea Bath & Shower Wash: This beautiful shower gel was a gift from my cousin last year and I really loved it and enjoyed using it. The tiniest amount was required to create a lather, which didn't dehydrate my skin. The scent was so refreshing & uplifting - a joy to use. If I'm feeling spendy or want to treat myself, I will repurchase this.
Soap & Glory Orangeasm, Sugar Crush and The Righteous Butter: All three of these were mini body butters from a Christmas gift. I love them all because they were all so moisturising and I loved the scent of all three, with Orangeasm being my favourite. I will definitely repurchase these again!
Skincare:
Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser: This cleanser left me baffled when I tried it initially because it just didn't wow me and didn't feel like anything special, yet my skin really liked it. It was perfect for times when my skin was feeling a little stressed or reactive and I would definitely recommend it to those with very intolerant skin. It reminds me of Dermalogica Ultra-Calming Cleanser - it doesn't wow, but does what it sets out to do - comforts stressed skin and cleanses without stripping. I have other cleansers, which I prefer but I think it would always be worth having a tube of this in your collection so for that reason, I will repurchase.
Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm: Regular readers will know that I LOVE this cleansing balm. It is gentle, cleanses thoroughly, doesn't strip the skin, is calming on the skin and is a real treat to use. If I had to mention one con, it would be that I seemed to use it up very quickly - for the price, I would like it to last longer. I received a tub of this for Christmas & am delighted to have another one to crack open! I will also repurchase in the future!
Clarins Special Eye Contour Balm: I love this eye cream. I am a fan of Clarins skincare, in general and this eye cream doesn't disappoint. It really hydrates the eye area, plumped the skin and softened the appearance of fine lines. I have another eye cream in use at the moment but will definitely repurchase in the future.
Estée Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Creme: I love this moisturiser - it really lives up to its name in that it hydrates my skin and makes it feel very comfortable, without being greasy. I have already repurchased.
Haircare:
Living Proof Blowout: This is a brilliant product for adding volume to your hair. A few light spritzes into the roots before drying is all that's needed to create volume and movement without adding stickiness. I have a few other volume sprays to use up but then will definitely repurchase.
Make-up:
YSL Touche Éclat: I finished two tubes of this brightening/highlighting product - sob! I love this cult product for really brightening my under eye area - I have tried similar products by other brands but none quite measure up to this.I love how light it is in texture. My only con is that you don't know what you are going to tun out until it won't click anymore! I will definitely repurchase.
So that ends my empties post and I am determined to fill up my empties bag again soon! Have you used any of these products? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments below! Are you good at using products up?
