How on earth is it the end of January?! Instead of dragging on, I feel like this month has absolutely flown by! I've been addicted to Celebrity Big Brother and Making a Murderer, have pretty much kept to my resolution of being more mindful with my spending and have been quite productive with life admin despite being ill - it's been a good month! So let's get started with what I've been loving this month.
Honest reviews, regular hauls and all things beauty.

First impressions of recent purchases: Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, MAC Tan Pigment, Kat Von D Trooper Liner
Instead of just showing you what I bought recently, I thought it would be different to give you my initial thoughts on the products for a change, to tell you if they lived up to my expectations. This is very much a first impressions post & my thoughts may vary as I continue to use the products, depending on how my skin changes, if they break or dry out quickly. My final impressions will probably be in empties posts but let's get started with my initial thoughts!

Serums currently on rotation: Origins, Elemental Herbology, Omorovicza & Sarah Chapman
I think at this stage we have established that I am a skincare junkie! I'm a face mask addict and I love a good cleanser but at the moment, I am really enjoying the serums that I have in my collection. Today I am going to share with you the serums that I currently have on rotation and why I reach for each one depending on what I think my skin needs on any given day. I haven't included Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair because I have already blogged about it so often and I think we all know by now that it is a given in my skincare routine! So let's get started!

My winter glow essentials featuring MAC, Kevyn Aucoin, Estée Lauder & more!
Glowing, radiant skin is the look that I gravitate towards all year round - I think that it gives my dry and dehydrated skin a healthy and more youthful look and is most flattering on my skin. I don't want to look greasy or like a discoball, but I do love a good glow. Today I am going to share with you the products that help me achieve (fake!!) glowing skin in winter.

Disappointing products #2: Nude Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash & First Aid Beauty Milk Oil Conditioning Cleanser
Don't you just hate it when a product disappoints you? Even more so when it isn't cheap! It's rare that I buy a skincare product without thoroughly researching it but sometimes research isn't enough and you can only determine if a product works for you by trying it yourself. Today I am sharing two products that disappointed me with you and the reasons why. Please remember that this is just my opinion and my skin - they might work for you!

Speedy reviews: The primer edition featuring Too Faced, Marc Jacobs and Becca
Primer is a step that I cannot skip in my make-up routine. I have dry skin and I find that the right primer helps my skin to look fresher and my foundation to apply and sit more evenly. I don't particularly look for products to add longevity to my base, but if they do, it's an added bonus! Generally, I go for primers that will add radiance and hydration and today, I'm going to share my thoughts with you on three relatively recent additions to my primer collection (yes, it's a collection at this stage - ridiculous, I know!).

REVIEW: Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick Colour
I have two By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow Sticks and love the convenience of them for quick & easy make-up looks for days when I can't be fussed with a complicated make-up look or just don't have the time. Because of this, I was eager to try some similar products and when I saw the Laura Mercier Matte to Metal Holiday Caviar Eye Stick Colour Collection, I thought it was the perfect set for me. Unfortunately, by the time I was finished my Christmas shopping and wanted to treat myself, it was sold out and I was disappointed, so you can imagine my delight when I spotted it in the Space NK sale with a 50% price reduction! For only £19.50, I got 6 (mini) eyeshadow sticks in a variety of colours. I say mini, but they are actually a good size, because a full size shadow stick is 1.64g and these are 1 gram each. A full size shadow stick will set you back £22, so I got a great deal. Read on for my thoughts!

Uriage skincare reviewed: Roséliane Dermo-Cleansing Fluid, CC Cream and Aquaprécis Moisturising Express Mask
Uriage is a brand that I have started to see more of in the media in Ireland recently but I have never tried anything from them so when I was contacted in the latter part of 2015 asking if I would like to try some products, I jumped at the chance. I described my skin type (dry, dehydrated and sensitive) & they sent me over three products to try based on what I had said about my skin's needs: Roséliane Dermo-Cleansing Fluid, Roséliane CC Cream and AquaPrécis Moisturising Express Mask.
Uriage products contain Uriage thermal waters combined with other components in all of their products and all are produced in collaboration with dermatologists and pharmacists. Uriage thermal water has moisturising, anti-inflammatory, healing, anti-radical, softening and isotonic properties making it more effective than the thermal waters used in other brands. The products are hypo-allergenic, non-comedogenic and paraben free so they are suitable for even sensitive and reactive skin, like mine. Given all of this, I was very excited to try the products. I have given them a good road test for the last four weeks and I'm ready to share my thoughts with you today.

Empties & speedy reviews #20 featuring Omorovicza, Skyn Iceland, Clarins, Estee Lauder, Xen Tan & more!
In 2014, due to having always too many similar products open at the same time, I decided that I needed to finish products up before opening new ones. For the most part, I stuck to it but in the second part of 2015 I let it kind of slip again (I did continue to use products up but I also opened more products before finishing others) so for 2016, I need to get that back on track. This will go hand in hand with trying to be more mindful with my spending so prepare to see lots of empties posts coming your way this year! So let's get on with my first empties post of 2016!

What I got for Christmas 2015!
Happy New Year to all of my lovely readers! Let's hope that 2016 is our best year yet! Today, I thought I would share some of the beauty gifts that I received for Christmas. I was thoroughly spoilt and I'm excited to try so many new products. The usual disclaimer - I'm in no way bragging, just excited to share and I love reading posts like this. Let's get started!
