Another pair of speedy reviews today & both of these items are skincare products from brands that I like other products from so I was pretty confident when purchasing that I would be happy with these. Unfortunately I can't say that it's love, but it's not a case of hate either. Let me tell you why...
First up is REN Wake Wonderful Night-time Facial. I love REN's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and because this product is also from the same Radiance line, I had high hopes. It contains Glycolic Acid and Omega Oils, both of which are ingredients I really like in my skincare as they renew the skin to make it look more radiance and also add hydration. I also really love overnight treatments & waking up with my skin looking bright and feeling hydrated, so I thought that this product would be right up my street.
The scent is a little off-putting - it smells like a bitter orange, but it isn't so overpowering that it would prevent me using the product if the results were good enough. They say that there might be some mild tingling upon application, but I didn't experience that and I have quite sensitive skin. I apply this before my moisturiser and the next morning my skin does feel soft but there is no visible difference to the eye - it doesn't look particularly brighter, clearer or more radiant. I like how soft my skin feels but I have other products in my stash that do more than this one so I wouldn't repurchase it. I expect more at €40 for 40ml.
The second product is Alpha-h Liquid Laser with Hexapeptide Concentrate. I bought this purely because Lisa Eldridge raved about it! Again, it is an overnight treatment and from a brand that I have previously used and loved a product from (Liquid Gold). I must add that because I am on a lot of medication, my skin is unusually dull and dry so my experience will be different to those who experience it without those circumstances. I apply a few drops of this to my face and neck a few times a week after my usual cleansing routine and have been doing so for a few months now, but I can't say there has been a noticeable difference in smoothness or luminosity. I think that I might stop using it and keep it by for when I finish my medication to give it a fair chance because it is a pretty pricey product so I don't want to banish it to the cupboard of doom just yet!
Have you tried either of these products? I'd love to know what overnight treatments you would recommend? Please tell me in the comments below!
