Speedy reviews #4 By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Primer and Estee Lauder Double Wear Light

So it's speedy reviews time again and today I have one pretty high end product and one mid-range product. Both are products that I am reaching for very regularly at the moment and I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts on them with you.

I will start with the high end product: By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Primer. First off, I have to say that this is a crazy price for a primer - it is priced at £78 for 30ml. It is definitely the most expensive primer I have ever used and I was kind of hoping that I would hate it so that I wouldn't feel the desire to repurchase, but no, I really like this primer! I had high expectations due to the price, but I have previously been disappointed by expensive products so I know that price doesn't necessarily equate to amazing results. This is an anti-wrinkle serum base and is described as firming and smoothing. I don't necessarily have to worry about wrinkles at the moment but I do like products that create a soft focus and blur pores and fine lines. This primer has more of a lotion texture than cream, and is non-greasy and it creates a very smooth base for foundation. It has a fresh, delicate scent but nothing too over-powering and I have noticed that it really extends the wear of my base - no matter which foundation I use. They tend to last pretty much 10/11 hours without needing to be touched up, which is pretty amazing. I also love that my concealer doesn't crease at all when I use this primer, which is brilliant because I personally don't like to powder my under-eye area because my skin is dry and I find that powders tend to settle in any fine line or exaggerate them. A pea sized amount is all that is required to cover my whole face so it should last quite a while. Overall, I cannot fault this product at all (well maybe apart from the price!) and I am very happy to have it in my collection. Whether or not I will repurchase when I finish it, I still can't tell - I suppose it depends on if I'm feeling spendy at the time!

Next up is my current favourite foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. I know that a lot of people swear by the original Double Wear foundation but when I tried a sample, I found that it wasn't suitable for my dry skin, but I also don't favour a very full coverage base. Having said that, I have seen a lot of people rave about Double Wear Light so I decided to give it a go because in Autumn/Winter, I like a less dewy base than in summer. I feel in love with this foundation the first time I used it and have been reaching for it more often than my other foundations for the last few weeks. I love how it completely evens out my skin tone and glides over my pores and covers any imperfections, yet it doesn't feel very heavy on the skin and it doesn't look like a mask. I absolutely love how this looks on my skin and find that I use very little concealer with it because it just isn't necessary. It doesn't settle into fine lines or highlight my pores on my cheeks (even when I don't use the primer mentioned above) and it looks good no matter what I use to apply it - I have used my fingers, a beautyblender, two different foundation brushes, and the results were the same - flawless. If you haven't tried this yet, then I would suggest getting a sample a.s.a.p. unless you have very oily skin, in which case you might prefer the original Double Wear. It isn't completely matte (that is a look which I don't like on my skin), but it certainly isn't dewy or glowy at all. I would describe it as demi-matte. I have heard a rumour that it is being dis-continued which I am hoping is not true!

Have you tried either of these products or would you be tempted to try them? I would love to know which primers and foundations you are loving at the moment? Please tell me in the comments below!
